Our TR4 programme is a 4-week returner programme designed for experienced software engineers who are trying to return to tech after a career break.

You’ll receive bespoke technical mentoring and career coaching from our experts during the programme. Once you have successfully completed the programme and upon passing Deutsche Bank’s interview process, you will be ready to return to a career with our hiring partner.

Hybrid working

Eligibility criteria:

  • You must either be a British passport holder, or have an Indefinite leave to remain giving you the right to work.
  • You must not have any criminal convictions.
  • You must agree to a credit and criminal check to be performed if you get an offer from Deutsche Bank (this is a standard procedure for all their employees).

While our Tech Returners programme is delivered remotely, jobs with Deutsche Bank require hybrid working at their London location. The expectation is to spend 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. You can choose to work from home on either a Monday or a Friday, but not both.

Each programme is tailored to the needs of the Hiring Partner and the Returners taking part. However, we have a coaching and mentoring framework that we follow. Please see below:

Week 1: Development Analysis
Dependent on our hiring businesses needs, week 1 might focus on:

  • Understanding your strengths and areas of development through 1-2-1 call with your mentors
  • Introduction to Deutsche Bank as a company
  • Group tech project

Week 2: Personal Progression

Dependent on our hiring businesses needs, Week 2 might focus on:

  • Solo tech project
  • Presenting your career journey with confidence
  • Lightning talks from engineers from Deutsche Bank

Week 3: Interview Readiness

Dependent on our hiring businesses needs, Week 3 might focus on:

  • Tech Task preparation
  • Technical interviews
  • Understanding your value as a returner

Week 4: Career Relaunch

Dependent on our hiring businesses needs, Week 4 might focus on:

  • Group tech project
  • Group presentations
  • Mock interviews

Week 5: Final hiring partner interview
This is dependent on hiring partner preferences.

Once you’ve applied, you’ll enter our pool of returners. We will review your application and if we think your tech stack and experience is right for the programme and the roles at Deutsche Bank, you’ll progress to the next stage: “Your Motivations”.

Here we learn more about why you want to return now and why Deutsche Bank are the company you’d like to work for. If suitable, we will have a short “Introduction Call” with our Career and Mindset Lead, Mili Velikova. The last stage is your “Final Interview” with our CTO, James Heggs and Mili. If successful, you start the TR4 programme and your entry back to tech begins!
