I’m a 34-year-old mother of three incredible girls. I spent 14 years in the Royal Air Force working all over the U.K. and overseas and left to raise my young family.
I have no prior coding experience but have been responsible for the maintenance and fault rectification of airfield navigational aids in Afghanistan and was lead technician deployed around the U.K. to restore operational capacity to key military units following the Conficker malware outbreak. I also have experience running an IT Helpdesk as well as working with clients to investigate and rectify issues and have worked in a technician capacity on build and configuration of hardware, connectivity, software installation and server management.
Since I was a kid I’ve always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. I’ve had a varied career in technology so far and this is a new area for me, which I’m hoping will suit my current personal situation better (ie allow more flexible working). I like helping people and working as part of a team and there seems to be a lot of opportunities to do both of those things within the coding world.
