Beckie Taylor

Tech Returners Co-Founder and Mum to Ethan and Emmie, Beckie is an executive coach with over 18 years of HR and people development experience. She has a focus on talent management, team effectiveness, continuous performance development, building a diverse workforce and flexible working and has acted as a global HR leader, spearheading business growth for international tech companies. Beckie is also a coach at Tech Returners supporting individuals through their career journey and providing coaching for the Your Journey into Leadership programme. Beckie is Co-Founder of WIT North and has been Voted one of the Top 30 Women in Tech for Greater Manchester 2018 and was named one of Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in Tech 2019.

James Heggs

Tech Returners Co-Founder and Dad to Eoghan, James is a graduate in Software Engineering and has spent over 13 years working in the North West’s tech sector in a range of roles from software engineer to head of development, as well as being a DevOps consultant for both public and private sector businesses. James is also a Tech Coach delivering technical teaching and support across the Your Return To Tech and Your Journey Through Tech programmes. A keen advocate for tech in the North West, James also organises the Devops Manchester Meet Up designed to bring the DevOps community together. He is also the current holder of the Made in Manchester Awards Technology Professional of the Year.

Kate Leach

Tech Returners Programme Co-Ordinator Kate has a background in apprenticeships having spent 15 years working for organisations such as the National Apprenticeship Service and The Manchester Growth Company. At Tech Returners she is responsible for reviewing and analysing processes and ensuring the smooth running of all programme delivery. At home Kate is Mum to two girls, Isabelle who is 8 and Tilley who is 4.

Matt Jones

Matt is an experienced in-house technology talent partner. Having moved to Manchester 15 years ago from North Wales to pursue a career in recruitment, Matt has become one of the leading in-house technology recruitment figures within the Manchester technology scene. Matt is Tech Returners Talent Coach and is responsible for supporting our returners through their Return To Tech and beyond and supports our clients in helping them reduce their technology skills gap.

Bobby Blaney

Bobby is an experienced high volume staffing and technical recruitment specialist having started his journey into recruitment at his beloved Manchester United and continued on with the 2nd largest global recruitment agency. Bobby works within the Engagement Team alongside Matt, providing career-ready coaching and tips to our Returners as well as working with our sponsors to help identify routes back into Tech and hire experienced Returner Talent.

Natalie Asprey

Natalie is a Marketing Consultant working with Tech Returners to provide strategic marketing delivery across its programmes, initiatives and events. With more than 11 years experience building marketing functions and teams within B2B marketing and with a specific focus on tech businesses she is passionate about delivering tangible value to stakeholders through marketing.

Ellie Judge

Tech Coach Ellie embarked upon a career change after discovering a love of code. Having embraced the tech scene in Manchester and teaching herself to code at home she successfully applied for a scholarship at Code Nation learning HTML, CSS, Javascript, and React as well as backend technologies such as MongoDB and MySQL - she’s been coding ever since! In her role as Tech Coach she provides teaching and support across the Your Return to Tech and Your Journey Through Tech programmes alongside keeping her skills sharp developing in-house tech solutions for the business.

Harriet Ryder

Tech Coach Harriet is a software developer who entered the industry in 2016 after previously being an English teacher and librarian, she has held various roles from Software Engineer to JavaScript Tutor and Head of Community. She maintains her passion for sharing programming with others and diversifying the tech workforce in her role at Tech Returners enabling returners and career changers into tech roles. She is heavily involved in the NorthWest tech community, mentoring at various meetups. She is also an organiser of Code Bar, Manchester, which runs free programming workshops for under-represented groups in tech, and leads CodeFirst: Girls courses.

Heather Williams

A proud career changer, Heather spent 10 years working in education. After taking a career break she become part of the very first cohort of Tech Returners, finding her first role in the industry after completing the programme. She is now a Frontend Developer at AutoTrader and a Tech Coach at Tech Returners bringing her knowledge back to where it all started, providing teaching and support across the Your Return to Tech programme.
